AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Supplier Cost Engineering Specialist, Global Purchasing. 

 

The position provides cross-functional support to internal stakeholders during the sourcing and product development process, helping to drive the regional purchase strategy and creating value for internal and external customers through detailed manufacturing process cost knowledge. The incumbent reports to the Manager Supplier Cost Engineering, Global Purchasing and delivers strategic, tactical and operational support for the Purchasing organization. As an advisor to Purchasing Leadership and cross functional process partners, the incumbent manages Regional SCA projects, prioritizes strategic and tactical initiatives to embed robust procurement processes, driving cost savings and delivering sound metrics. 

 

Your Impact  

  • Regional role in the responsible commodity supplier development and cost analyzing projects. Identify potential supplier development opportunities from process cost analytics 

  • Create saving opportunities by bringing new manufacturing concept ideas to supply-chain 

  • Realize cost savings for external sourced components by conducting detailed manufacturing process simulations. Define, implement and maintain standardized cost analysis systems, tools and instruments for purchasing on a global perspective 

  • Provide active purchasing negotiation support to global commodity teams 

  • Support for the AGCO School of Purchasing locally (topics: cost calculation/ negotiation/value analysis). Develop the internal knowledge and expertise on manufacturing technologies 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • University degree in Engineering (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent, further MBA and/or academic training in business/economics is a plus. Relevant Min 5 years of professional experience and over 2 years of work experience in a cost analyst/engineer-related role, preferably in a global environment. 

  • Proven track record of cross-functional project management, Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate at all levels in a cross functional, matrix oriented, multicultural organization. 

  • Active participation in purchasing negotiations with high level spend. Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills. Understanding of the complete business environment form the aspects of purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing. 

  • Good manufacturing process knowledge in the agricultural machinery industry field such as castings, forgings, machining, metal fab, plastics, etc. is a plus. 

  • Good understanding and proven usage history of the AGCO costing tools e.g. Siemens Product Cost Management or tset costing, Multi-linear Price Performance  (Pulling the negotiation team together - Pushing projects forward cross-functionally - Opening the negotiation window for purchasing - Bring-up the negotiation argumentation)
