Financial Planning Analysis Specialist - Parts

Stoneleigh - Hybrid Working initially 2 days office based

Job Summary

 

This role will be responsible for preparing the budgets and forecasts for EME & APA Parts balance sheets, freight, packing, warranty & other costs.  To provide analysis of variances under area of responsibility including Global Parts.  Prepare the burden calculation annually and prepare balance sheet reconciliations for parts discount schemes and exchange surcharge parts accounts for review.  To provide business support to the Parts business; supporting operational and strategic projects as required.

 

Job Accountabilities & Duties:

 

  • Consolidate the analysis of the month end results; issue prelims by market reports, and other month end reports and produce reports according to deadlines.
  • Review the accounting work for other costs & expenses to ensure that the accounts are prepared accurately in accordance with US GAAP and review result and provide explanations of variances to the manager.
  • Organise & administrate the preparation of the budgets & forecasts for EME & APA Parts business liaising with other FP&A teams. Co-ordinate the input of other teams, prepare input for areas such as global parts, sundry balance sheets and capital and prepare forecasts in accordance with the given timetables.
  • Prepare and issue the reporting packs to Customer Support Director & other areas of finance and the parts business. Undertake regular reviews of reports and update, redesign as required. Ensure packs are prepared and issued in line with the given timetable.
  • Undertake regular review of the packs and update as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly balance reconciliations for Parts discount schemes and exchange surcharge parts reserves for higher level review; so that the business reporting requirement and US GAAP requirements are met. They are prepared for review by the manager so that the balances can be adjusted in line with the expectations from the business.
  • Reserves are fully supported with no audit issues.
  • Prepare the burden calculation and to ensure that the % is reviewed once a year. 
  • Global Parts Accounting and to ensure that Global Parts is reported correctly in the budgets/forecast and actuals and any variances cleared or understood.
  • Prepare the Strategic Business Projects (SBP) and to liaise with the FD to input the 5 Year SBP.
  • Provide business finance support on projects and work with the business as and when required.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Essential to have a recognized accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or part qualified with proven experience with good business interest/acumen.
  • MS Office with strong excel skills.
  • JD Edwards, SAP, Onestream, Hyperion are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders
