Machine Learning Computer Vision Engineering- Internship

Precision Planting is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. The Precision Planting team develops innovative products that improve the lives of growers and make agriculture more sustainable, efficient, and profitable. The Precision Planting Computer Vision Engineering Intern will receive hands-on experience in many different areas of product development based in Tremont, Illinois. This paid internship will focus on projects which apply cutting edge artificial intelligence and machine learning technology to new on-equipment precision agriculture products in development. We aim high and work hard, but you will have fun and have the opportunity to grow technically.

The Internship may include the following:
- Design and testing of new product concepts and technology
- Working alongside our data science, machine learning, and embedded linux development product development teams
- Multidisciplinary engineering team to develop hardware and software features for real-time edge computer vision sensing and automated control applications

 

Required Skills/Experience
- Current enrollment in BS or MS degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Skills in C, C++, and Python
- Experience in troubleshooting and debugging hardware-software interactions
- Strong communication skills and experience being a flexible team player
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0
- Personal Transportation
- Willingness to relocate to the Peoria/Bloomington, IL area


Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience in sensing, robotics, machine control, and embedded system development
- Exposure to open-source ML frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch
- Exposure to multi-threaded and near real-time systems
- Exposure to inter-process communication methods (Protobuf, DDS, ZeroMQ, shared memory, etc).
- Exposure to Yocto, Kernel configuration, Boot loaders, Device Trees, and Cross compiling
