Manufacturing Engineer



Precision Planting is seeking a manufacturing engineer to help us grow the manufacturing capabilities of our rapidly growing company.  In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise in the design, implementation, and deployment of new manufacturing capabilities as we introduce exciting new products and pursue increased throughput and quality of current products.  


Precision Planting is a subsidiary of AGCO Corporation and a leading provider of planting and harvest technology in the Precision Ag Industry. We design innovative products that solve yield-robbing issues for farmers.  Precision Planting has a 25-year history of developing pioneering products for the farmers of the world to grow their crops more profitably, productively, and sustainably.  


Job Responsibilities

  • Leading efforts to modernize and automate existing manufacturing processes.

  • Responsible for facilitating communication between the assembly line, quality control, and design engineers.

  • You will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and designing assembly line tooling for current products.

  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to implement manufacturing lines for new product introductions.

  • You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement related to current assembly line fixturing, material flow, end of line test machines, etc.

  • You will be problem-solving during scale-up for commercial production.

  • U.S. travel is expected. (~5%)


Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with both the technical limitations and cost implications of manufacturing processes

  • Familiarity with automation, workflow, and material flow

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across numerous team disciplines

  • Solid modeling of mechanical parts using Creo or similar tools

  • Creation of detailed part prints as necessary for assembly line fixturing and end of line test machines

Experience / Education Required

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field

  • At least 5 years of Engineering experience
