​​The Commercial Director is a key leadership position that has responsibility to drive the overall PTx business for operational execution across North America. Specifically, you are charged to develop the PTx distribution in North America, manage a team of Region Manager Leads, and conduct activities in a manner that will ensure North American goals for sales, profitability, asset utilization, service performance and customer satisfaction are met. You will develop goals, initiate and execute the mission, objectives and actions required to achieve the identified North American targets. This is a hybrid role based out of our Tremont, IL office and requires travel, which can range from 30–50% depending on geography and seasonality. 

 

Your Impact 

  • Provide leadership and actions to ensure the Region Team Leads are united under a common purpose, with common objectives, goals and detailed plans to execute.
  • Responsible for North American targets (i.e. sales, profit, market share, loyalty) and build solid relationships with the dealer through credibility, influence, business acumen to lead field managers and dealers in a desired direction.
  • Provide leadership and actions to ensure customer satisfaction is maximized in both commercial and after sales customer experience.
  • Lead, train, and develop a strong Region Manager Lead team, along with their teams, to deliver excellent dealer and customer experience while strengthening brand position.
  • Assist and coach dealers to develop strategies, goals, objectives, structure and tactical actions to achieve market penetration targets.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing superior dealer relationships with high potential dealers.
  • Assist and coach dealers to develop a highly qualified, ag-tech oriented staff that is motivated and trained so that they consistently outperform all other competitive dealerships in the trade area.
  • Assist and coach dealers to manage their business to maximize the financial and physical resources they have invested.
  • Monitor competitive product offerings, pricing, programs, distribution initiatives and activities to ensure PTx is maximizing the dealer’s market effectiveness.
  • Depending on situation, this position will Champion or Coach the field team with oversite when dealers are identified with strained or distressed financial circumstances with the goal of correcting dealer P&L.
  • Assume full responsibility for all PTx business conducted within North America.
  • Work with PTx Marketing to collaborate marketing, advertising and promotional plans within North America. Represent PTx at industry, dealer, and association events.
  • Provide product ideas and feedback to R&D teams based on understanding of customer needs, competitive, and industry landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, sales procedures, and ethical standards, fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism, and excellence within the sales team. 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or related field with agriculture experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and effectively managing distributor relationships within the specified region.
  • 3+ years of people management experience. 
  • Deep understanding of the agriculture market and its dynamics.
  • The ability to create a trusted business relationship with all stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Experience working in the area of distribution development and business planning.
  • Financial aptitude and mastery of financial documents such as income statements and balance sheets. 
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills including the ability to handle conflict and provide issue resolution through a strategic approach. 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of management, employees, dealers, and end-users, and be highly articulate with strong leadership skills.
