 About the Role:

  • Working with multiple commodities and suppliers within our supply chain on procuring parts in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Working with departments across the organization including Sales Ops, Production, Engineering, Quality and others on the Procurement Team on the communication and coordination of incoming production parts. 


What would I be doing?

  • Issue production PO’s based on established pricing and optimized quantities

  • Working with suppliers on shipping schedules to meet forecast and production needs

  • Work with sales and sales ops on forecasts  

  • Ensure that production is supplied with needed parts for Manufacturing Orders

    • Expediting of parts when needed

    • Updating schedules and communication of Back Ordered items    

  • Work with suppliers on product short and miss shipments

  • Work with engineering on the execution and communication of engineering changes

  • Work with QC and suppliers to rectify quality control issues

  • Help manage BOM’s in the ERP System.

  • Managing inventory levels to meet space and financial constraints

  • Work with Sr. Buyers on sending RFQ’s and evaluating part and tooling costs.

  • Work with Sr. Buyers and engineering on potential cost savings initiatives



What must I have?

  • An understanding of different manufacturing processes and the associated lead-time

  • A good understanding of costs associated with a given manufacturing process

  • Must be comfortable participating in negotiations with suppliers

  • Strong communication and people skills are required in corresponding with Suppliers,  Production, R&D and others in Procurement.

  • 1-3 years experience in procuring manufactured parts and/or a BS in business or technical field


 What other specific skills & experiences would be good for me to have?

  • Proficiency in formatting, analyzing and summarizing data in Excel

  • Proficiency in ERP system navigation, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), BOM structures and issuing and tracking PO’s

  • Proficiency in reading engineering prints

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
