About the Role: 

In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of reliable software to our customers. This will be done through creating and maintaining automated tests, determining the root cause of issues, communicating issues and solutions, and gaining a thorough understanding of our products. 

 

What would I be doing? 

  • Collaborate within the software development team to perform regression testing, new feature testing, and recreate issues in a lab environment; In order to fail fast and deliver new concepts and features quickly to our customers. 

  • Develop and maintain innovative ways to automate executing tests, reproducing issues, validating solutions, and communicating results. 

  • Determine initial root cause of issues by analyzing logs and communicating with engineers and product support. 

  • Understand communication protocols between hardware devices in order to configure systems, and root cause issues (CAN, RS232, ethernet). 

  • Programmatically analyze complex log data, identify trends, and summarize findings. 

 

What must I have? 

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues such as communication issues, wiring issues, and electronic failures. 

  • Demonstrate an ability to understand, write, and debug software. 

  • A desire to learn about Precision Planting products and their applications and apply this knowledge to product testing and validation. 

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent experience. 

  

What other specific skills & experiences would be good for me to have? 

  • Experience with Qt, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, Python, C, C++. 

  • Experience in automated testing, software testing, tools, unit testing and working with HIL test simulators. 

  • Knowledge in embedded data protocols such as CAN, RS232, I2C, SPI. 

  • Familiarity with task/feature tracking systems. 

  • Understanding of revision control software (GIT).
