We are seeking a motivated individual for a unique opportunity to work in the verification and validation of autonomous and highly automated machines for agricultural applications. The candidate who fills this role will be responsible for ensuring that PTx Trimble systems are safe, reliable and perform as intended.  

We are looking for an individual with strong technical skills and with a practical, hands-on approach to solving complex engineering problems.  

 

Your Impact 

  • Develop test plans for bringing autonomous agricultural machinery to market. 

  • Verification of control systems for agricultural mobile machines. Ranging from low level embedded systems to ROS controls. Includes in office (simulation environment) and in-field work. Validation of autonomy applications for agriculture. Ensuring the products fit the needs of the customer.  

  • Ensure the product functions in the intended environment. Log and communicate system issues that arise during the testing of systems. 

  • Work as the go between of farming operations testing equipment and the development team. 

  • Commissioning of new machines and test systems, including working with product support. Writing, reviewing, and carrying out test procedures.  

 

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • A degree in Agricultural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with differing educational backgrounds but relevant experience may also be considered.  2+ years' experience in a verification and validation role, preferably for agricultural or automotive applications.  

  • Ability to develop and organize the execution of test plans. Ability to analyze test data and produce detailed test reports. Ability to learn quickly, with independent research troubleshoot systems while testing.  

  • Experience with sensors, actuators, hydraulics, and low-voltage electrical systems. Ability to work to relatively high-level objectives. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  

  • This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license.  

  • Travel Required: Up to 30% travel within North America for in-field testing. Industry knowledge and experience with agricultural machinery including driving tractors.
