Posting Title:  SOFTWARE DEVELOPER – Imaging



The candidate will perform tasks related to the design, development, testing and deployment of software.  Our flagship product, GrainViz Imaging, originated from the University of Manitoba Electromagnetic Imaging Lab is positioned to revolutionize the grain storage industry. As a Software Developer with Agco Winnipeg, you will work on code within our GrainViz Imaging system and related products involving embedded systems, wireless sensor networks and a large variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Design, read, write, and review code
  • Implementation of code
  • QC/QA, unit testing and validation of Algorithms
  • Validation Environment software development
  • QC/QA of reference data and data pipelines
  • Integration of workflow and process between the applicable dev teams
  • Engage with the software team to brainstorm features and technical solutions
  • Assist in troubleshooting software operating in a live service environment
  • Support new product development (NPD) and current product (CP) teams
  • Need of standardization/harmonization of QC/QA, and code release staging etc.
  • Ownership of requirements and needs of the Imaging and Electrical Hardware teams
  • Managing the team backlog and grooming backlog
  • Prioritizing needs 
  • Guiding agile sprint planning 
  • Feedback/working with Sr Product Ownership and Product Management
  • Formalizing requirements (documenting user stories/requirements) 
  • Providing guidance for steps required from research to product implementation
  • Identify risks and create mitigation strategies


Essential Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Computer Science



Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in or willingness to learn:
    • ReactJS
    • TypeScript
    • Python
    • C++
    • AWS tools
    • Docker
    • PostgreSQL / sqlite
    • Git
    • Matlab
    • Other tools as needed
  • Software workflow experience using git, CI/CD pipelines with unit testing, integration testing, code review and static analysis tools
